Full Moon 06:33
To fill the abyss devoured by life To absorb the light with the shining darkness To give birth eternally to the creature from the womb The sun’s crown over the black moon The exit and the entrance, the dawn in the ascendant The black flame and the invisible light Great waters are in the eternal motion The dancing chaos and the midnight daybreak The sunrise gleams on the gates and towers The noiseless flight of the black wings What has been born will be born anew What has died will die again The flesh that gives birth devours the newborns The giver of gifts will take back forever The patterns of threads woven by someone The white breath of the boiling ice

As I was driving On the black highway at night Leaving behind those eighteen-wheelers on the white line I turned left and quietly lit a cigarette Cops don’t come here, as someone told me That was good for I wasn’t quite myself I wobble slightly as a walk slowly My van is beaten and rusted, the headlights don’t work No trophy for car thieves, it looked rather stylish I threw my butt away holding the smoke inside As I drew to the crossroads, God damn it There was someone standing right in the middle of it I needed to brake badly but I froze on my seat There was a heavy impact that stopped my car And I was afraid to climb out of it at first But the man probably needed help so I finally did And it was impossible to describe what I saw there His left foot had a split hoof on it And his broken head sported huge horns So I realized he was the devil himself, he came for a soul And someone just didn’t come So the devil had been waiting in the mist, deep in thought And the crooked fender of my beauty hit him Well, I thought, if I ran down the Prince of Darkness I’m not supposed to be arrested for this So I dialed the familiar number, and they picked up And I said, Officer, there’s been an accident I was going my way, sticking to all rules And was not ready for this at all In short, I ran down the devil or maybe he was Satan himself My headlight’s now broken, and my fender’s all bent But the officer told me, You must be kidding How can something happen if it can’t happen?

Desert King 04:52
In the heart of the desert among dead sands He holds his crown in his dead hands The desert king in the grey mist His stone throne is made of volcanic cyst In a huge vortex, in this hourglass Everything turns to ashes and dust The time flows on as a river of sand The crown is held tightly by his hand Sand dunes breathe with the heat of the sun The time melts there and the stones are numb The death passes by this eerie retreat Turned into ash by the hellish heat The ruler of times reigns over this land Surrounded by those silent dead sands With a wave of his hand the hot winds blow He rules all whirls of his dry river flow

Long Smoke 04:52
The smoke is green, the grass is gold The sounds are white, the words are black The sky is hard, the earth is soft Hills and valleys, woods and fields The forest is emerald, the fire is golden The flame is yellow, the heat is crimson Sparks in the skies, the smoke in the clouds The banks are black and the river is red The dragon is green, the sunset is gold The flames have died with the farewell glance The wind in the firs, the coniferous dark The coals are black, the ashes are grey

about

Paul Douglas Jackson: "Green Hog are back with another power trio offering. Devils luck takes you on a journey, it’s so tight and cohesive you could call it a concept album. It sounds like a 100 ton locomotive of doom barreling across Siberia. Great road trip music for those that still like albums. GHB are short on cheese and long on honest art. A super solid rhythm section that prove less is more and a guitar tone that every guitar player should at least check out. GHB seem to be on a prolific writing spree and are brandishing hard work and talent."

Nick Pipitone from monsterriff.com
"Devil’s Luck is a killer album, and Green Hog Band is an act to keep an eye on. The record is a stoner rocker’s dream come true: fuzzy riffage, excellent guitar work, and a sludgy and, at times, Drone Metal style to get lost in.
The album has many tropes we’re used to with Stoner Doom, yet it stays refreshing throughout. Green Hog blends together several different elements, at times sounding like Sleep and early Sabbath, and then throwing in some Desert Rock for good measure."

The Obelisk:
"Give me the raw swing, echoing gurgles and unabashed fuzz of Green Hog‘s “Luck of the Devil” any day of the week. The Brooklynite trio released their Dogs From Hell full-length last year and follow it with the also-sung-entirely-in-Russian sophomore outing, not without its sense of ambience in “Dark Territory” and “Desert King,” the biker-in-space instrumental capper “Ric Moto,” but perhaps even more about the impact of its crashes than the spaces being created. Whatever definition of the word you might want to apply, Devil’s Luck is fucking heavy. And grim, to boot. Still, one could only call “Long Smoke” some kind of stoner rock, even if it is an especially crusty take thereupon, and the novelty of gurgled-out vocals sung in another language, complemented by samples in classic sludgy fashion, isn’t to be understated. If my man’s voice can hold out for a whole set, these guys must put on a killer show."

wovbagger from csakbennhajogerendazatto.blog.hu :
"Stoner doom-mal indít, sludge-ban folytatódik, aztán a harmadik számtól a lemez végéig stoner rákenrót lapátol a brooklyni Green Hog Band. Érzésből ahogy kell, és aki nem perdül táncra ettől a zenétől, az vagy süket, vagy botlábú. Nuff said."
